| TranSystems was selected as the master planner for a visionary 15-year scheme: to create a system of bikeways throughout the Village's roadway network and open space. Planning began with a study that mapped out a long-term strategy. Ten sources of federal, state, county and municipal funding were identified. TranSystems then designed each bikeway segment. The award-winning Woodward Avenue Regional Bikeway involved the construction of the path along Woodward Avenue and over the I-55 bridge, while preserving the pristine environment within the Black Partridge Creek Watershed and Wood Ridge Forest Preserve. |
