| The Buffalo Grove village board approved a contract with an engineering firm to design a new bike trail along a portion of the Whit Pine Ditch. The ditch is a drainage channel in the Cook County section of the village. It flows along the backs of several properties and has been prone to flooding. The engineering agreement would cover design of the section from Bernard Drive south to Lions Park. The trail would be part of a plan to clean up the ditch by removing such obstacles to water flow as debris and vegetation. Assistant Village Manager William Brimm said the village intends to see the path go north of Bernard Drive. |
