| The forest district received a $400,000 grand from the Illinois Department of Transportation's Safe Routes to School grant program. The funds will be used to build a short walking/biking path along the east side of Glen Ellyn Road at the East Branch Forest Preserve in Glendale Heights. The funds cover engineering, permitting, and construction of the trail. Applications were submitted to IDOT, and the forest preserve district's is one one of 112 that were selected. |
