| Fox River Trail foes win battle for backyards | |

| Homeowners along the Fox River in St. Charles Township won a victory of sorts Wednesday when a vote shifted a proposed bicycle path from their backyards to the edge of their front lawns. The Kane County Forest Preserve Commission voted 16-7 to acquire by purchase or condemnation a 30-foot-wide swath of property along the eastern edge of Route 31 in the Valley View neighborhood.
