The Chicago Lakefront Path is an important facility that shouldn't go unattended - and it won't, if the Chicagoland Bicycle Federation and the Chicago Area Runners Association are heeded.

But they need your help.

A year ago those groups, along with Friends of the Parks, initiated talks with the Chicago Park District and the city Department of Public Works.

The talks turned to action this year when the path - used by millions of cyclists, runners and walkers - underwent some major improvements.
