| Monaville Road near Lake Villa will close from June 19 to Aug. 19 for construction of a tunnel to separate bike riders from highway traffic. The Chain O' Lakes bike path crosses Monaville between Route 59 and Fairfield Road connecting sections of the Grant Woods Forest Preserve. Related construction has begun on the $1.67 million project. The Lake County Division of Transportation will receive $264,000 from a state recreational trail grant. In a separate project, about 1.4 miles of Fairfield Road between Rollins and Monaville roads will be resurfaced. That project is scheduled to begin in the summer. |
