[extracted from article]
The Virgil Gilman Trail and Kane County Forest Preserve serve the community and visitors alike, linking Sugar Grove to Aurora. The village has an extensive bike trail system with a goal to link together the subdivisions within town and link to neighboring towns.

Village President Michels states, “The village has open space requirements and several bicycle/walking trails included in the Village’s Comprehensive Plan. Plans require the builder to include 40 percent open space in the development plan which includes bike trails, retention ponds and landscaping.
